Super Sentai Couples

 

Super Sentai Couples are the romantic relationships that exist or may exist between 2 members from a same team or as well of a member from a team with an ally or a friend that it's not necessary a hero/ heroine, some couples are official, this mean that the franchise has confirmed and others are called ships that are not official but are created by a group of fans that for certain actions think that a couple should be together.   

We are going to divide the couples by officials and Ships 

Official Couples

Goro Sakurai & Karen Mizuki

The first couple confirmed by the Franchise is the one between Goro Sakurai and Karen Mizuki both members from JAKQ Dengekitai, even when this is the shortest season, showed a relationship between these 2 members, in the first chapter Goro saved Karen and because of this it was the he actually accepted Joker's offer of being part of the team. These two went together to some missions and fighting together, this lead them to fall in love near the end of the series. 

Hiryuu Tsurugi & Sayaka Nagisa

Hiryuu and Nagisa from changeman, in this case, Hiryuu and Sayaka are kind of alike since the two of them become more attached to cases more than they should, this make them to share a good rapport. It is shown that Sayaka always gladly works with Hiryuu, by his case he has total faith in Sayaka and the things as an inventor that she is are able to accomplish their function. These two had share their moments reason why their team mates think that they like each other. 

Takeru & Mio

Different from the previous couples, These two are not from the same team, While Takeru is Red Mask Mio is Princess Lal who is actually an enemy of the Maskman. When Takeru was the main driver of Formula he met a mysterious girl named Mio, this girl was in reality Princess Lal who was sent by the Tube Empire to spy on the Maskman but when she met Takeru she feel in love with as well Takeru with her, after realizing that Lal and Mio were the same person Takeru decided to rescue her, which happened but they decided to go on separate ways at the series finale but not losing hope to might reunite someday.

Ryu & Kaori

Jetman showed us an interesting love triangle, Ryu a Sky forcer and that events before the series was destined to be Red Hawk, he was in love with Rie who was destined to be White Sawn, but when he discovers that she is Maria now and that it was brainwashed to unite with the enemy, he is focused in rescue her and accomplish his mission, in the process he met the others Jetman, one is Kaori a rich heiress, who showed feelings towards Ryu, but he always ended up rejecting her, so she started to focus on Gai who showed since a start feelings for her, however, Ryu with the help of Kaori let  Rie go, so they married and had a son, whose name is Gai .

Raita & Satsuki

When Raita was a child he lived in the countryside and had a friend named Satsuki who promised him to marry him is he won a race, thing that he did, years passed and Raita moved to the city, when Satsuki visits the city and meet Raita, he saw that she changed so he confessed to her that he prefers the old Satsuki, thing that initially offends her but she later reconsiders what Raita said and decided to change to her old self, she entrusts Raita to thanks the Yellow Owl to save her and that she liked him, Raita accepted and see her going again to the countryside, 3 years after the defeat of Vyram, Satsuki married Raita and live in the farm.

Daigo & Kujaku

Different from other couples, this love story is between a minor goddess known as Kujaku and a mortal, Daigo. Kujaku, a goddess was trapped thanks to Gara, years after Daigo set her free, while she was seeking revenge against Gara, when they met, Daigo in his good nature tried to help her to get her revenge, but at the time progressed they slowly started to develop feelings for each other, but Kujaku was focused only in get her revenge, but she finally realize that she had feelings for Daigo. At the end she sacrificed herself to bring the forth the real Gara, When she gave the peacok's rather than save herlself for Daigo, Here is when they love staory ended, leaving Daigo hurted. 

Kyosuke & Zonette

In Carranger, Zonette falls in love with Red Racer at first sight when she was sent to Earth for a mission, but Zonette is part of the enemies of the Carrangers, When Zonetter was madly in love with Red Racer, she thought that Kyosuke (Red Racer's true identity) was another ordinary civilian and wasn't interested in him, but Kyosuke showed her that he wasn't like others, and at the end of the series when she gave up her identity as Zonette and became back to her true identity as Vanity Mirror, it's shown that she develops feelings for Kyosuke.

Kouichirou & Chisato

Kouichirou and Chisato, both part of the Megarangers, are also good students and they spent a lot of time together, actually they had to pretend to be dating when Chisato's grandmother visited Chisato and was looking for candidates to Chisato's date with one of them, so since Kouichirou was waiting for her to study, she asked him to help her with that situation, they also had to work alone as a team when the others were trapped, it was shown that they may had feeling for each other.

Shun & Miku

Similar with Kouichirou and Chisato, Shun and Miku are part of the Megarangers and are also classmates, since the begining of the series it can be clearly seen that Miku developed feelings for Shun, but this last one seens oblivious of it, even though, these two spends a lot of time together, while Shun is responsible and smart, Miku is carefree and bubbly. It seems that Shun cares for Miku, in one episode they had to tried to escape from different zones, they work together as a team and could be free, it seems that they got closer during the series, they ended up being good friends.

Tatsuya & Yuuri

Tatsuya and Yuuri from Timeranger, Yuuri is a time traveler that go back to the 20th century to revenge the death of her family, but to accomplish this she travels with a team leaded by her, but when go to the 20th century they met Tatsuya who wasn't interested in join to the team but he finally accepts, Initially Yuuri was only focused in her revenge and treated Tatsuya with distance, always keeping her cool but at the time passes and with the progress of the series they became closer and they started to develop feelings for each other, their love story didn't last due to the gap of the time line, so at the Yuuri goes back to the 30th century.

Domon & Honami

Same as Yuuri, Domon is from the 30th century, alongside Yuuri and the others he goes to the 20th century, where he met Honami a photographer that initally was seen as an obstacle to the the Timerangers as she was putting herslef in danger but Time Yellow encourage her, she thinks that Shun (Time Blue) was Time Yellow but then she discovers that Domon was actually Time Yellow, they started to spend time together as they fall in love but for the gap time line they couldn't be together. It is known that they had a son name Mirai this thanks to Gokaiger's events.

Isshu & Nanami

Initially, Isshu and Nanami were enemies considering that they were part of different teams, during the series this changes and the Hurricangers and the Gouraigers decided to team up, as the story progresses, Ishuu developed feelings for Nanami, at first it was hinted that it was for a spell, but at the end it is revealed that he actually had some feelings towards Nanami, this was mutual, as Nanami developed feelings for Ishuu, through many episodes we could see how their relationship grow but they didn't end up together.

Asuka & Mahoro

Asuka and Mahoro, events before the series, Asuka and Mahoro get married but after their wedding, Mahoro alongside her brother were sent to infiltrate the Evolian Palace but she was capture and was captive, the wicked god brainwashed her and made her believe that Asuka never tried to save her and pursued another woman, so she transformed into Jeanne and her mission was to killed Asuka, but Asuka never gave up and tried at all cost to save his wife, near the end Mahoro was restored thanks to Asuka, both of them had their happily ever after as they returned to Earth with their child. This child was the little girl that was divided in 2 girls.

Yukito & Emiri

Yukito Sanjyou and Emiri, Initially, Yukito, an anti hero guy type and Emiri, a high schooler with sense justice didn’t have the best of relationship, as Yukito saw her like part of the Dino House but not a hero since she couldn’t transform into an Abaranger, but things started to change when she helped him to come up with an idea to save the others. As the series progresses, these two became closer, as it can be seen at the end when Emiri became his assistant  and years later, they eventually get marry as she introduced herself as Emiri Sanjyou when they met the Gokaiger.

Sen & Umeko

Sen and Umeko, since the beginning of the series, we could see the closeness of these two characters, mainly because they have to patrol together. Near the end of the series, Umeko had a new boyfriend, to whom she really loved but this new boyfriend was actually a criminal who didn’t really care about her, this saddens Umeko, but Sen confronted this criminal, as he said that Umeko was cheerful and bubbly, at the end, Sen comforted Umeko, as she sees Sen with other eyes, as she started to developed feelings for him, it can be seen that they started to date and years later they got marry.

Jasmine & Hikaru

Jasmine and Hikaru, this is the couple with a huge age difference, since Hikaru met Jasmine when he was around 8 years old, as Jasmine he is an ESPer and can read the mind and feel their emotions if he touches other people, he hated humans and wanted to go outside Earth, thanks to Jasmine he abandons this wish and prefer to go the SPD Academy one day. Years passed, Hikaru attended to the SPD Academy and graduated, around this time, he met Jasmine again and eventually they got marry and later on they had a son, who inherits his parents ESPer powers and whose name is Taiga.

Sungel (Hikaru) & Urara

Urara and Sungel (Hikaru), This is a magical couple, since both have the ability to performance magic. Events before the series, Sungel was transformed into a frog, this thanks to a spell, just the kiss of the blue magician could break the spell, but Urara was afraid of frogs, but when she saw that this frog was trying to protect her, she kissed the frog and that frog transformed into Sungel, her father’s apprentice and the next teacher for her and for her siblings. Since his appearance, we could see how their bond grow as the series progressed, near the end they decided to get marry.

Kai & Yuka

Kai & Yuka, this is a High School love story. Kai is best friends with Yuka, She helps the soccer team, to which Kai is part of, since the beginning of the series it can be seen that he has a crush on her, but Yuka has a crush on the Red Magician, no knowing that in reality he is Kai, however in the movie version Yuka discovered Red Magician’s true identity, realizing that he is actually Kai. They kept being friends but it seems that time after, they gave a chance and they decided to have a date, Years later it is revealed that she kept her red magician’s pulshie.

Satoru & Sakura

Satoru (Chief) and Sakura, this is a love between adventurers, Sakura is in second in command after Satoru, When Sakura met Satoru he was interested being part of the Boukenger, one of the reasons is that he wanted her to find her destiny, shortly after she started to have feelings for him, since earlier episodes of the series it can be seen that she had feeling for him, and this also can be seen in different episodes of the series, at the end Sakura go on aboard with him to start a new adventure, their relationship grow during that adventure.

Matsumi & Natsuki

Other love story between adventurers, Natsuki and Matsumi knew events before the series, Matsumi found Natsuki trapped under a rock in some ruins, the weight of the rock left her with amnesia During the series, Natuski was always asking Masumi why he saved her, even when he didn't admit why, the series hinted that he had gained feelings for her. When Natsuki fouund out who she was, for Matsumi she was still the same Natsuki, He showed to care for her, thanks to her, Masumi took the charge of the Dual Crusher at the series finale.

Sosuke & Miu

Sosuke and Miu from Engine Sentai Goonger, In a begining Sosuke and Miu didn't have a good start, since Miu alongside Hiroto, her brother had their own team, Go on Wings, and believed that they were better than Sosuke and his friends, even though as the series progresses the two teams started to work together and their relationship got better with the siblings. Miu had a tendency to fall in love helpless guys, Sosuke is one of those guys, reason why she started to worry and care for him, sadly Sosuke was oblivious about her feelings.

Chiaki & Kotoha

Chiaki and Kotoha from Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. these two has a strong connection as being the younger ones, they understood each other well, When Chiaki listened what Kotoha thought about herself, he questioned her which made Kotoha sad, he later apologizes to her and told her that she is amazing, he also gives her a piggyback ride, they worked so well as a teamwork and when Kotoha was ill he seemed so concerned trying to save her no matter what, as the series progresses their bond grow but kept being good friends.

Hiromu & Yoko

Hiromu & Yoko from Gobuster, since the begining Yoko rejected Hiromu as part of the team since all the time that she and Ryuji were training Hiromu was living with his older sister, Rika, and the dynamic between these 2 were in bad terms, When Yoko realized that Hiromu remembered a promise that these two did when they were younger she started to treat him as part of the team and as a friend, in the Cinema Version these two ended up being a couple. 

Daigo (King) & Amy

Kyoryuger showed us a love story between similar characters, Daigo and Amy since the begining of the series have a good friendship, even when there wasn't any sign of romance in the very start of the series, after introducing Meeko and Yayoi to the series, Amy started to develop some feelings for Daigo and near the end of the series she invited Daigo to taste a strawberry parfait, during the last battle Daigo confesses to Amy saying that they are very similar and and that he had to protect her, at the end they ended up together and marrying. 

Souji & Rin

Kyoryuger was full of love stories, before Daigo and Amy's love story, Souji and Rin love story started events before Kyoryuger, this because Rin, Souji's classmate, develop feelings for Souji events before the series, Ian and Utchy tried to help her to confess to Souji but she couldn't as she was interrupted,  aside from that she thought that Amy was his girlfriend, thing that she later saw it wasn;t like that, they keep being friends and at some point it is known that they actually got married.

Tokatti & Mio

ToQger showed the relationship between Tokatti and Mio, Tokatti is a highly cautious person and Mio is a caring but sporty girl. These two have been classmates events before the series, their journey as ToQger strengthen their friendship, but this also help Tokatti to develop feelings for Mio, which that Mio who hates the idea of romance, act oblivious to Tokatti's feelings, even though at the series finale, when they become children again, Mio before to go to school holds Tokatti's hand. 

Spada & Raptor 283

In Kyuranger we could see the couple between Spada and Raptor 283, While Spada is a skilled chef, Raptor is an android who is serious and has a short tempered. During the series it can be seen that Spada acted like the father figure of the group, in other hand, it was hinted that Raptor 283 could have developed feelings for him, Spada acted always protective with her, in the series finale, Raptor congratulate Spada as he accomplish his dream of open a restaurant.

Sakuya & Umika

Sakuya is part of the Patranger, while Umika is part of the Lupinrangers, this fact is a secret, since no one can know her true identity. Sakuya met Umika at Bristro Cafe and since the first time that he saw her, he developed a crush for her. He invited her to go on a date, which she accepted and was always willing to help her in any way he could. He later confessed to her but she said that is a good guy, she later felt guilty for deceiving him, near the series finale her identity was revealed.

Melt & Oto

Melt is Ryusoul Blue from Ryusoulger, Oto in the other hand is Canalo's little sister, since she went up to the surface, she developed a crush on Melt, as she asked him, if he would help her to make descendants, during the series, Oto showed care and more interest in Melt, much to Canalo's dismay, that's why Canalo had some fights with Melt. At the series finale, Melt went to look up for fossils, Oto decided to go with him, which he easily accepted. 

Takamichi & Sayo

Takamichi appared in Episode 12 of Mashin Sentai Kiramager, When Sayo go to the mountains to work, she left her Kiramai Changer at the base, without an idea of how exit from the woods, and with her leg hurt, she encountered with Takamichi which decided to help her as a reward he give her a kiss on the cheek which suprised Sayo, she later reciprocates his action as she gives him a kiss on his cheek as thanks for helped her, as the series progresses they strengthen their friendship

Ships

In this second part of the section we will see some ships, the ships are characters that fans consider that should have ended up together. Let's see some of those ships

                                                                  

                                                                                             Geki & Mei

Geki & Mei from Zyuranger, these two characters, different from the rest of the others members, are part of the royal members of their own tribes, Geki is the prince of his tribe and Mei is the princess of her own tribe. Each time that Mei was in danger when she was trapped in dream world, when she pretended that she would sacrifice herself, Geki showed much concern about that, He also concerned when she and Dan became evil in one ocassion. He also encouraged and congratulated in some situations. She also showed concern when Geki was acting strange. They tended to go on missions together.
